THE STOAT
Since 2007, Tobias has developed a multidisciplinary sculptural practice, working independently across welding, stone carving, wood carving, and clay. He primarily works with hard materials such as granite, basalt, and stainless steel, creating works that range from intimate objects to monumental public sculptures. His subjects often draw from the natural world, including bears, rabbits, birds, otters, and foxes, each interpreted with a strong contemporary sensibility. Each sculpture is a unique combination of both stone and stainless steel, formed through direct carving and welding processes with no casting, making his work a compelling choice for collectors seeking expressive, modern wildlife-inspired sculpture.
