Susie Cipolla
Susie first broke into the art world at the age of seven, winning a bicycle in a Dairyland colouring contest. After that, art languished on life’s back burner while she finished school and pursued a career in physiotherapy. In 2009, at the urging of a friend, she took a painting workshop with Canadian artist Brian Atyeo. Discovering a new passion in painting was life changing for her.
Since 2009 Susie has committed herself to improving her skills as a professional artist. She spends her days with her family on their rural property. Her art studio sits next to the horse coral and overlooks their ninety year old farmhouse. Susie’s studio provides a sanctuary for her to create works of art and to provide a venue for visiting artist instructors.
The local scenery is stunning, with towering mountains, flat farmland, old buildings, wildlife and farm animals in abundance. Her subject matter and inspiration for painting will never run out. Susie’s preferred painting medium is acrylic and her subject matter is varied. She is known for her marine scenes, landscapes and wildlife of the Pacific Northwest Region. She is represented in Canada by Galleries in British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec.
In 2015, Susie won the Grand Prize, at the Federation Of Canadian Artists Signature Medal Show, for her rendering of a West Coast fishing vessel. Susie is a Senior Signature Member (SFCA) and a past Board member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. She is a founding member of The Whistler Out Of Bounds Artist Group.
Nationality is Canadian.
