Tyler Thoren Photography

Born in Vancouver, Tyler has called Alberta's Bow Valley home for over two decades. With a lifelong passion for photography, he specializes in fine-art wildlife portraits, capturing the essence of animals in their natural habitat. 

Tyler guided photography clients across Western Canada for nearly two decades, sharing the beauty of its wilderness without ever personally taking photographs. A business venture in 2016 gave him the opportunity to pursue photography earnestly, utilizing his extensive knowledge to capture stunning wildlife images.

Residing in Banff National Park, Tyler continues to explore and document the natural world. His work is showcased on his website and social media platforms, where he offers limited edition fine art prints. 

Tyler's philosophy emphasizes experiencing nature fully before photographing it, a principle that guides his artistic approach. Through the view of his lens, he invites viewers to connect deeply with wildlife and their environments, fostering a greater appreciation for the natural world.

Artist Statement:
“I aim to capture the rare moments of solitude and natural wonder that evoke deep emotion in-camera. To me, there’s a profound difference between taking a picture and creating a photograph.”  

The high-gloss dye sublimation process involves infusing archival-quality photographic dyes directly into a specially coated aluminum sheet using heat and pressure. This results in a vivid, high-definition image with incredible depth, rich colour, and a sleek, glass-like finish—while remaining lightweight and durable.
