Bill Brownridge

Bill Brownridge (1932–2024) was a Canadian artist and author known for his vibrant depictions of hockey and prairie life. A graduate of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and Art, he received a Canada Council grant in 1975 to document disappearing railroad architecture. He created Olympic-themed serigraphs for Calgary’s successful 1988 Olympic bid and designed the Calgary Flames’ uniforms in 1993. Brownridge also wrote and illustrated The Moccasin Goalie trilogy, celebrating the spirit of the game. His impressionistic style captured the beauty of winter, inspired by his love of hockey and the prairies.
