Peter Wyse

Peter Wyse is a Canadian painter whose work is rooted in the landscapes, stories, and the 
quiet rituals of everyday life. From children racing down snowy slopes and hockey 
played on frozen ponds to wandering bears, passing orcas, and the family pet that knows 
more than it should, his paintings celebrate the moments that shape our memories and 
deepen our sense of belonging. With warmth and humour, Wyse captures the details that 
give a place—and a life—its character.

Represented by galleries across Canada and collected internationally, Peter Wyse is 
recognized for his bold use of colour, strong design, and gift for visual storytelling. Over 
more than twenty-five years, he has developed a distinctive process of layering, sanding, 
and polishing acrylic paint to create the velvety finish that has become a hallmark of his 
work.

An avid mountain biker and explorer of British Columbia's coast, Wyse draws inspiration 
from the flora and fauna of the Pacific Northwest, where changing light and unexpected 
encounters often find their way into his paintings.
