IN THE HIGH ALPINE
Donna Jo Massie is a watercolour artist living and working in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta. Her work is deeply inspired by the Canadian Rockies, with many paintings developed from time spent hiking, sketching, and painting on location in backcountry huts and alpine lodges. Since establishing her full-time practice in 1988, she has also been a dedicated educator, teaching workshops and residencies for organizations including the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the Calgary Zoo, and the Alpine Club of Canada. Donna Jo Massie’s watercolour paintings are an excellent choice for collectors seeking luminous, expressive works that capture the colour, clarity, and energy of the mountain landscape.
