The raven fin is a Haida supernatural killer whale. In one Haida story, the voracious appetite of the Raven, one of the main cultural hero's (or anti-hero's) takes a ride inside a whale, he ends up eating all inside and emerges out of the whale, depicted as raven-fin for a Haida crest on poles and regalia.
