"Glorious Afternoon" (Watercolour, 29.5 x 22.5") So speaking of Skoki (a historic 1931 back country ski lodge in the Canadian Rockies)...one day we skied as far as we could before a river crossing turned us around, then followed an arrow & time stamp written in snow for us by new friends, which directed us around the Skoki Loop past the Red Deer Lakes. After a very full day we arrived back at the lodge just in time for dinner greeted by the sounds of laughter and story telling of the day's adventures. We warmed up, dried out our gear & savoured this 🇨🇦 wine by the window, grateful for fire, food and friends. I think of the countless skier/hikers who have experienced the lodge over the past 94 ish years - the adventures had, the stories told and memories made."
