Cameron Bird

“Growing up for a time on Vancouver Island, I am continually drawn to the West Coast landscape. There is such a drama in the sunrise, sunsets and storms of the area and this small study captures one of those moments. On these small studies I try and push myself in color and brushwork coming away with something powerful and unique. My painting mentor, that I studied with for years, started me out doing as many small studies and boards as possible. I had to put in the hours in order to study design and color, and there were many frustrating hours.”
