ANGEL GLACIER, EDITH CAVELL
“I was just recently hiking Cavell Meadows, with my family, and I stopped often to render a quick crayon sketch of the surrounding landscape. I was inspired by both the meadow before me, as well as the Glacier across the Valley on Edith Cavell, main face. Once we were quite high up, I did this sketch of a unique view of the Glacier and its abstract qualities. I knew once I got back to the studio, I would attempt a painting. Trying it out first in study form gives me a better idea of how to transfer to a large canvas.”
