RUFFED GROUSE
David Riome (b. 1954, Saskatchewan) is a self-taught Canadian sculptor whose work reflects a profound connection to the natural world. Drawing inspiration from the mixed woodlands of his childhood and the rugged landscapes of Northern Saskatchewan, Riome creates stone sculptures that celebrate wildlife, the human form, and the rhythms of nature. Using traditional hand tools, he transforms soapstone, antler, bone, coral, bronze, and other materials into multi-media works that balance form, movement, and harmony. Each piece reflects a uniquely Northern perspective, blending subject, style, and material into sculptures that resonate with vitality and authenticity.
David Riome’s sculptures offer collectors a tactile and deeply natural connection to the northern landscape, combining technical mastery with expressive form for timeless, captivating works of art.
