Janice Tanton

Janice Tanton is a multidisciplinary Canadian artist whose practice spans over two decades, creating evocative works that bridge disciplines and resonate with diverse audiences. With more than 23 years of professional experience, Janice brings a unique voice to contemporary art through her commitment to storytelling, community, and creative innovation.

An Alumna of Distinction in Creative Arts & Design from Durham College, Janice also studied acting at the University of Windsor, earning a foundation in performance that would deeply inform her artistic practice. Her early career included professional work in theatre, film, music, vocal performance, and graphic design—an eclectic range that speaks to her broad creative vision.

In 1989, Janice launched her own art, publishing, and design company, where she blended her talents across multiple media to establish a successful entrepreneurial venture. Her work gained rapid traction, building an extensive network throughout North America. She secured major corporate clients, entered lucrative licensing agreements, and operated two commercial galleries alongside a dedicated design and fine art studio.

Her achievements in business and the arts garnered national recognition. She was selected as a delegate to the inaugural Canada–U.S. Businesswomen’s Summit and nominated for the prestigious Rotman Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Today, Janice’s artwork can be found in prominent corporate and private collections around the world. Her interdisciplinary approach and dedication to meaningful, impactful work continue to define her as a dynamic force in the Canadian art scene.
