OPEN WATER
"While ski touring in Elk Lakes Provincial Park in B.C., each day we crossed over the Elk River, dancing its way through thick forest. I'm always fascinated at flowing water in mid-winter, this day was -24 degrees and the river was still alive and open, reflecting late afternoon sky and shadowy evergreens. Dappled sunlight splashed through the forest lighting the snow, creating long shadows, warming our backs. The sound of running water in the dead of winter is restorative, delightful, hopeful."
