The rectangular glass on the stand represents the western red flicker. These birds were seen as wealth, their tail feathers were and still are used on our chiefs headdress seen to the sides of the wooden frontlets inlaid with abalone. The split shape on the panel represents the feather which has this type of split also seen in our art, the split was also named after the flickers feather in old times.
