"The hike to Opabin Pass above Lake O’Hara gets more stunning with every meter of elevation gained. With each step it is hard not to turn around and stare at the changing scene. Cathedral Mountain rises in the distance, light sweeps across the forest and up Wiwaxy’s shoulder, past treeline. The lakes show off a variety of greens and reflected sky, and as one climbs higher, they flatten out and their shapes become apparent, outlined with dark lines of evergreens. The cliff face and rocky foreground falling away gives a sense of perspective and textural interest."
