| One summer day, a slide that crashed onto the Sea to Sky Highway sent 10,000 cubic meters of rock down. While nobody was hurt, the incident served as a stern reminder that this breathtaking road, although manmade, still belongs to Mother Nature. I stopped at Porteau Cove when the highway reopened a week later. Three crows circled above me. I did not find them ominous, however. I thought they were simply retelling the story. This painting has a small piece of rock tied to a twine. The crows fly, but the rock may loosen free. This is not a warning. It is a tale of living among the elements and complying with nature’s will. |
