Every now and then I put down my oils and grab acrylics. I was helping my sons in the studio with this painting and, having the paints out, I decided to have go at an alpenglow scene. Acrylics cause me to rethink my process and I have to be prepared for a “different” look. Through glazing and dry brushing on this one, I canto a place that pleased me. This is not always the case with acrylics and I usually end up painting over with oils. I have been using oils for so long that it’s hard to give up. This one stands powerful enough and I think will hold its’ own.
